"Once, perhaps twice, but no more in an entire lifetime will a person have an opportunity of life-changing magnitude. When such an opportunity knocks, it's up to you to accept it and make the most of it - or simply let it pass by."
- Winston Churchill

Massage Types

Many benefits of massage are universal and each client has specific areas of need. Massage therapy addresses those unique needs, which is why I incorporate multiple modalities into my massages.  Finding the “root cause” of the problem is the “key” to successful, natural healing.  The modalities I currently specialize in are Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release Therapy, Sports Massage, Neuromuscular/Trigger Point Myotherapy, Deep Tissue and Pre-natal (pregnancy) Massage, Magnet Therapy and Chair Massage.

Magnet Therapy: An alternative therapy in which magnetic fields are administered by application of magnets to certain parts of the body, by magnetic field-generating machines, or by magnetic mattresses or blankets. Magnet therapy has been promoted to help discomforts associated with arthritis, cancer, circulatory disorders, diabetic neuropathy (nerve disease), fibromyalgia, immune dysfunction, infection, inflammation, insomnia, multiple sclerosis, muscle pain, neuropathy, pain, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, stress and to increase energy and prolong life, There is no convincing evidence that magnet therapy is useful in any of these regards and do not make any medical claims. Body magnets are contraindicated in people having radiology, an MRI or wearing a cardiac pacemaker. Also, known as bio-magnetic therapy or electromagnetic field therapy.

Swedish Massage is a relaxing, therapeutic massage that stimulates the circulatory, skin and nervous systems to help relieve stress and reduce tension.

Myofascial Release Therapy is an extremely effective hands-on technique that works by applying gentle, sustained pressure to eliminate pain and restore flexibility and motion to the fascia (connective tissue).

Sports Massage is designed to prepare athletes for an upcoming event. It utilizes special manipulation to increase blood circulation to the muscles. It includes a pre-event, post-event and maintenance techniques that promote greater athletic endurance and performance. Also aids the body’s natural healing process following a grueling workout or competition. It can reduce the impact of injuries, stiffness, inflammation, and fatigue and recovery time.

Neuromuscular Therapy is also called Trigger Point Myotherapy. The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes this form of massage therapy as an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury (such as a muscle strain). This type of therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm to release the lactic acid from the muscle, resulting in increase blood flow and oxygen.

Deep Tissue is used to reach deep within the muscle or underlying tissue to relieve pain, and addresses the source of that pain (such as tendonitis or arthritis).

Pre-Natal (Pregnancy) Massage is an ideal way to reduce fatigue, improve circulation, increase energy, and reduce the muscle pain and joint stiffness that often accompany the changes occurring in the body during pregnancy.
